Mary Elaine Eberenz

With deep love and heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Mary Elaine (Storck) Eberenz of Westerville, 78, who passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 20, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Leona and Frederick Storck. Mary lived a life defined by devotion, warmth, and the ability to bring joy to those around her.

She grew up in Huber Heights, Ohio, and attended Wayne High School. Mary went to the University of Dayton, where she earned her degree and met the love of her life, Gregory Eberenz, with whom she was married for 55 years before his passing. Together, they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and devotion.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. Her heart belonged to her daughters, Michele and Leanne. Her devotion was not just to big milestones but to everyday moments. Mary treasured every second spent with her five grandchildren. She loved creating cherished memories and always had the newest and greatest games to play.

Many annual family vacations were taken in Hilton Head, which was one of the Eberenz family's favorite places. She met Greg while playing euchre and continued to share her love of the game with her friends. Mary never said no to a milkshake or watching the Buckeyes with Greg in their matching La-Z-Boys.

Mary was naturally funny—often without even trying—and her warmth and humor brought so much laughter. She was, above all, a deeply caring and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

A dedicated professional, Mary spent her career serving others at St. Ann’s and Mount Carmel East Hospital as a Medical Technologist, Infection Control Coordinator, and later as a Risk Manager, earning the respect and friendship of many through her guidance and care.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Michele Joubert (Dan) and Leanne Chaput (Joe); her beloved grandchildren, Beckett, Mason, Caroline, August, and Molly; her sister, Susan Gaspar (Tom); her brother, Michael Storck (Marianne); her sister-in-law, Bridget Storck; as well as her nieces and nephews, Blake, Grant, Adam, Brian, Nicholas, Heidi, Jenny, Megan, and John and an extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gregory Eberenz; her parents, Leona and Frederick Storck; her brothers, James Storck and Jack Storck; and her sister-in-law, Bobbie Storck.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church in Worthington, Ohio, on Thursday, September 3rd at 10:00 am, followed by a luncheon at the parish in Marian Hall until 1:30 pm, to share stories, love, and sweet memories of Mary.
