Mary Magdaline Fisher

Mary "Madge" Fisher, age 97 of Hilliard, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019. Madge was born at the family home in Minster, Ohio and grew up in Lima, Ohio, youngest child of the late George and Anna Knostman. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.H. "Bud" Fisher, and siblings, Norbert Knostman, Alvina Quinn, Dorothy Schwegman, Roy Knostman, and Verona Murphy. Madge graduated from St. John's High School in Lima, Ohio and Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati where she studied social work. She married her high school sweetheart, Bud and the two of them went on to share in 54 years of marriage together before his passing in 1998. Madge was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Andrew's Women's Club. She was also a member of the Mount St. Joseph University Alumni Club and looked forward to their annual luncheon. Madge was sweet, kind, loving, and could be described as a ray of sunshine. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, line dancing, playing cards, and being a part of the social club at the Villas of Mill Run where she was a longtime original resident. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, Joyce Shoemaker, Stephen (Cathy) Fisher, Carol (Jesse) Watson, Jan (Mark) Disterdick, Sharon Davis, and Jeff (Elsie Gongwer) Fisher; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 3-7 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, June 28, 2019 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount St. Joseph University, 5701 Delhi Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45233-9963 or to OhioHealth Hospice, c/o OhioHealth Foundation, 180 E.
