Mary Dyer Harris

Mary Dyer Harris, age 74 of Columbus, died Monday June 24, 2013. Mary was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 13, 1938, the daughter of Inez (Bush) and William Henry Dyer. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and retired from DCSC. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister Ion Payne and nephew Stewart Payne. She is survived by daughters Kristin (Chet) Young and Jennifer (Ray) Griffin; grandchildren Devin M. (Angela) Tubbs and Tayler L. Young; great granddaughter Giselle M. Tubbs; former spouse Frederick L. Harris; niece Linda Payne Brown; nephews William L. Payne and Bryan E. Payne; great nieces and nephews Ion K. Suchan, Larry C. Brown and Lyle P. Brown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 453 N. 20th St., with Father Joshua Wagner as celebrant. The family will receive friends begining at 10:15am at church. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 322 8th Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 (alzfdn.org) in her memory.
