
A funeral service for Mary Evelyn King of Newark will be held Friday November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Central Christian Church, 587 Mt. Vernon Road in Newark. Interment will be at Newark Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Gill officiating.
Mary was born in Columbus Ohio on June 30, 1919 to the late Ernest Bert and Ada Awilda (Hines) Markham. She went to be with her lord on Monday November 5, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was 93.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband Howard King, whom she married on May 19, 1940 and died in 1984, son in law Dwayne Edwin Foltz, granddaughter Tracie Lynne Foltz, great-granddaughter Lillian Foltz, brothers Chester, Delmar, John, Joe, and Bill Markham, and her sister Lauretta Collins.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie Foltz, Judy Riley (who was like a daughter to her), grandchildren Trevor Allen, Nathan (Yew Lfvin) Edwin, and Matthew (Shaydean) Aaron Foltz. Great-grandchildren Kendra, Bryant, Nicholas, Leo and Louie Foltz, great-great-grandchildren Jason and Jordan, plus numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Mary was a lifelong member of the Central Christian Church, where she served in many ways including the Women’s group, committee chairs and the Library. She loved to cook, bowl, sew and give much of her time to her family and her church family. She worked for the City of Heath in the tax and water departments.
