Mary M Kinney

Mary M. Kinney, age 93 of Columbus, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018. Mary was born in Calmoutier, Ohio, a French community in Maysville, Ohio. One of 11 children to the late Clayton Stephen and Lucy Clara (Palliotet) Marthey. In 1938 her family moved to Orrville, Ohio. Mary graduated from Smithville High School in 1942 and Ohio Institute of Business in 1944. She married Clifford L. Kinney in 1949. They resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Wooster, Ohio. Prior to moving to Columbus in 1972, she was employed in the admissions department of the College of Wooster. In Columbus she was employed by the Rupp Insurance Agency from which she retired after 25 years of service. Mary loved bowling, traveling, reading, and cards. She was an avid fan of all Ohio State sports and loved her Cleveland Indians. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; granddaughter, Audrey Kinney, sisters, Agnes Seib, Connie Shultzman, Jeanette Meier, and Dolores Marthey; and brothers, Donald, Richard, Hillary, and Thomas Marthey. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Douglas (Vicky), Rickie (Teresa), and Stuart (Jodie) Kinney; grandchildren, Nick (Nicki), Keara, Evan, Mac, Joe, Griffin, Benjamin, and Noah Kinney; great granddaughter, Matilda; sisters, Geneva Cairnie and Margaret (Bob) Eby; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday, May 7, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Ln., Columbus, Ohio. Family will also receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak St., Orrville, Ohio followed by a graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
