Mary E. "Libby" Krouse

Mary E. “Libby” Krouse, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Willowbrook Christian Home. She was born in Menominee, Michigan on August 31, 1925. Libby graduated high school in Hermansville, Michigan, attended Mexico City College and was a Member of First Community Church since 1968. Libby served on the board of Deacons and on the FCC staff from 1985 to 1992. She also served on various councils and boards at FCC. She was a member of CURSILLO #37, which was a spiritual enrichment group who met every Tuesday for the past 35 years. Libby was a member of Cum Christo Community. She taught at the Mary Evans Child Care Center at First Community Church from its beginning until 1982. She is preceded in death by beloved husband, Kenneth E. Krouse; parents, Marie and Howard Landree; sister, Shirley Niemi; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Krouse. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Mimi) Krouse, Jan (Art) Leonard, Scott (Caroline) Krouse and Tom Krouse; grandchildren, Sarah (Sinclair) Krouse-Torrilhon, Ashley Krouse, Jesse Leonard, Mason and Alexandra Krouse, Kenny Krouse, Charlie Krouse, Joey Krouse and Josey Krouse; great grandchildren, Roman and Vienna Torrilhon; brother, James Landree; sister-in-law, Jill Landree; brother-in-law, Dean Krouse; nieces and nephews and many close friends. Libby’s greatest accomplishment of her life was the love and caring of her children and their children. She did ordinary things in an extraordinary way. Libby was always so positive and will be remembered for her warm smile and the twinkle in her eye. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 4-7pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. A memorial service for Libby will be on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11am at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212, with a reception to follow at Brownlee Hall.
