Mary was a devoted homemaker and later worked for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for several years. She was a member of Jefferson Country Club, where she loved to golf. Mary and her husband, Bob, shared a love of travel and traveled the world together, always finding an opportunity to enjoy a round of golf along the way.
An avid bridge player, Mary also enjoyed board games, watching sports, Sunday dinners with family, sewing, and playing the piano. She had a warm and welcoming personality and truly never met a stranger. Above all, Mary cherished her family and the many years she shared with those she loved.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Wright.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Bob Parkinson; daughter, Cathy Herold; son, Brad Parkinson (Belinda Manierre); sister, Jackie Leith; grandchildren, Andy (Lauren) Herold, Ashley (Josh) Wolfe, and Keane (Carla) Parkinson; and great-grandchildren, Alex Wolfe, Ren Parkinson, and Jackson Herold.
The family will receive friends from 1–2 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio., where the memorial service will begin at 2 p.m.
