Maurice Brumfield

Maurice B. Brumfield, “Speed”, 83, of Westerville, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at his home. He was born March 20, 1926 to the late Raymond and Elizabeth Brumfield. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Avanelle Brumfield; brother, Raymond B. Brumfield, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lisa; and sons-in-law, Ray and Clarence. Maurice is survived by Gilda, his devoted wife of 63 years and the loving father of 6 children, Elizabeth Ford, Maurice Brumfield, Shirley (Rich) Montesi, Darlene Arthur, Jim Brumfield, and Patricia (Danny) McCloud. Maurice is also survived by his brother, Ernest (Sally) Brumfield; grandchildren, Rae Ann and Shawn, Tricia and John, Cory and Amy, Heather and Jody, Richie and Bridget, Robby, Rachael, Kyle and Amanda, Misty and Paul, Amanda, Britney and Sean, Jennifer, Amanda and Chris; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Natalie, Crystal and Aaron, Scott and Aaron, Ethan and Cadence, Kenny, Gavin, Cameron, Raydon, Taylor, Madison, Lauren, Baylie, Nathanael and Hannah and great, great-grandchildren, Shawn David, Noah and Ameila. Maurice was a veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the North American Duffers Society. He was employed by and enjoyed playing at Rolling Meadows golf course. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00PM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL 5554 Karl Rd. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Rev. Brett Castle, from Maize Road Baptist Church, will be officiating.
