Maurice E Jones

Maurice E. "Maurie" Jones, age 92, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was born August 3, 1923 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Earl and Marguerite Jones, and is also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jones; and sister, Julia Krinov. Maurie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mildred "Millie" Jones; children, Kenneth (Karen), Larry (Patricia), Douglas (Kellie) and Brian (Helen) Jones, Marsha (Roger) Vogel, and Edward (Emily) Nolte; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ernest (Nancy) Jones. Maurie has been a lifelong student and teacher; Superintendent of the Gahanna-Jefferson School System; a committed husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; a consummate leader of his family; a lifelong follower of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Stonybrook United Methodist Church, 485 Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna conducted by Robert L. Thomas, Pastor and Nicole R. Baker, Pastor. Inurnment will take place at Palmyra West Cemetery, Diamond, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maurie's name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL.
