
Maxine C. Peters, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Pickaway Manor Care Center, Circleville, Ohio. She was born on September 4, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to the late Donald S. and Mildred (Miller) Christy. She graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville, Ohio in 1940. Maxine resided in Bexley, Ohio from 1958-1992 then moved to Circleville to be near family. She was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma International Friendship Sorority, Child Conservation League, Bexley Women’s Club, and Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley. Maxine was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ann Nicholl. She is survived by her brothers, Robert of Abbottsford, British Columbia, Fred and Harry of Prescott, AZ; her loving children, Mark, Dan (Susan) and Tracy (Julie) Peters, and Mollie (Charles) Hedges. She adored her grandchildren, Marina (Seth) Rozen, Joshua Peters, Corey and Diane Peters, Grace Tober, Isabelle Peters, Chris (Tiffany) Hedges, Ben Hedges, and Colin (fiancé Katie Logan) Hedges. She was a proud great-grandmother of Mackenzie Hedges and Ethan Rozen. She was the great niece of the renowned American painter and illustrator, Howard Chandler Christy. Maxine will always be remembered for her generous spirit, outgoing personality, inner strength and marvelous sense of humor. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Circleville, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville, OH on Saturday May 22 at 10:00 A.M. Her cremains will be interred in a private ceremony at Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pickaway Co.
