Melanie was born in Volkhov, Leningradskaya Region of Russia on April 3rd, 1999. She was adopted on February 1st, 2000, in St. Petersburg by her parents, Gisle John and Elsie Jorgensen. Melanie joined her adopted sister Veronica and brother Eric to form the Jorgensen Family.
Melanie was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Worthington, Ohio, and was a baptized and confirmed Christian. She participated in intermural soccer and ran cross country for Dublin Scioto High School. In addition to Dublin Scioto, she also attended Tolles Technical School, graduating from both schools in the spring of 2017 with a major in cosmetology. She became a licensed cosmetologist and worked as such until her passing.
Melanie gave birth to a son, Kayson Ross Johnson, on October 19th,2018.
Those who knew Melanie knew she had a love for animals, especially cats. Melanie loved people and had a contagious smile. Her warm, bubbly personality effortlessly attracted those around her, making every interaction feel like a spark of joy.
A funeral service for Melanie will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church - Mill Run Campus, 3500 Mill Run Dr, Hilliard, OH 43026.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The Cat Welfare Association of Columbus.
