

Melva J. Snyder, age 61, of Upper Arlington, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her home. She was born September 15, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, a daughter of the late George W. and Florence (Babington) Dietrich. Melva was a devoted wife and loving mother who cherished spending time with her family and always put them first.
She is survived by her sons, Brad Snyder and fiancé Nancy, and Kenneth Snyder and wife, Melissa; cherished grandson, Andrew; sisters, Carrie Steele and husband, Greg and Georgia Davis and husband, Larry; other relatives; very close family friend, Ada Charlene Bowers and many friends. Besides her parents, Melva was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 30 years, James Stewart Snyder in 2006.
She was an Associate at Macy’s located in Kingsdale. Melva was a volunteer at the Upper Arlington Public Library and loved spending time at her home, whether it be gardening, tinkering with small projects or walking around her neighborhood. Private Memorial Service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013.
