Melvin Garrett

Melvin Garrett, age 74, of Ashville, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was born in Hocking County, Ohio on September 20, 1936 to the late Homer and Maudie (Poling) Garrett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Florence and Dorothy; and brothers, Howard, Clarence, and Francis. Survivors include his children, Bonnie (Bruce) Speakman-Peart and Peggy (Thomas) Garrett-McKenzie; grandchildren, Nayresh, Thomas, Nikki, Jamie, Amanda, and Shayna; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dolly and Sylvia; special friend, Wilma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME 151 E. Main St. Circleville. Graveside services will be held privately at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, Ohio.
