

Melvin Ray Jessie, 57, passed away June 13, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 8, 1952 to the late Emanuel Jessie and Patricia Alice Sexton. Mel was a 1970 North High School Polar Bear, attended Franklin University, Park College, and CSCC. Mel served 7 years in the US Army in Germany and Virginia. He was selected to serve in the 3rd US Army Regiment, “Old Guard”, in Arlington, VA. Employed by the USPS, and since 2000, was employed by Irrigation Supply, Dublin, Ohio. Mel is survived by his wife, Roxanne; children, Curtis, Sherwood, Melanie (Wallace), Ryan, Benjamin (Joetta), and Elizabeth (Charvey), Rico; grandchildren, Ana, Caleb, Dublin, Wally, Mason, Corbin, Alex “Bump”, Gavin “Cheesy”, and Christopher; mother-in-law, Sandra Beaver; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rick and Susan Brown, and Karen Baugus; nieces, Kayla (Jonny), Kacie, and Hope; nephew, Cody; great niece, Kennedi; uncle, Jack Jessie; numerous cousins; many friends; and his collection of dogs, cats and parrots. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, June 18, 2010 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. The family will have a private service.
