Michael Addison Cox

Michael Addison Cox, 68, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born March 31, 1950 in Circleville, OH to the late Leonard and Helen Louise (Williams) Cox. Mike graduated from Laurelville High School. After graduation, Mike proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked for General Electric and retired after 35 dedicated years. Mike enjoyed camping whether in his backyard or the state parks. He just enjoyed being outside. He had a love of NASCAR, cooking, John Wayne and his GE breakfast club. Mike was an excellent cook and his famous oatmeal cookies will be missed. Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his younger brother Mark Cox. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Debby; children, Christie (Todd) Ely, Robbie (Maria) Downey, Jennifer (Steve) Wingo, Michael (Audrey) Cox and Jennifer (Kyle) Dunkle; grandchildren, Jake and Ryan Lewis, Papaw's "little man"- Jayden Wingo, Mason Downey, Michael Cox, and Kyra Dunkle; sisters, Victoria Cox, Diana (Jerry) Rogers, Tracey (Les) O'Berry and sister-in-law Sally Bundesen along with special friends Chuck and Sharon Tatman. Mike was looking forward to the birth of Robbie and Maria's daughter. Family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home 151 E Main St Circleville, OH 43113 where a funeral service will begin at 5:00 pm.
