A memorial service, to Celebrate the Life of Michael Jacob Gleason, 46, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Pastor Josh Pennington officiating.
Mike was born in Mansfield, Ohio on February 26, 1964 to the late Stanley Gleason and Edith (Wagenhals) Frisby. He passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 25, 2010 with his best friend, John at his side.
Mike was a person who had a big heart and loved helping those in need. He enjoyed renovating and helping others with their home decor, gardening, working in the yard, camping and playing euchre. He also loved spending time with his family and friends during the Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas seasons. In his final days, he enjoyed watching HGTV while snacking on his favorite foods, Swiss Rolls and Chick-O-Sticks. Mike was the best brother and uncle that anyone could ever ask for.
Survivors include his best friend, John Runyan of Newark; sister, Michele Johnson of Butler; brothers, Phil Gleason of Arizona, Sheldon Gleason of Butler and Joe Gleason of Oregon; step-mother, Dani Gleason of Oregon; niece, Amber Johnson; great niece, Ava Carr; nephews, Kyle, Coty and Cameron Gleason; his beloved dogs, Missy and Bear; and numerous other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his close friend, Ben Alan Kiff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike to Hospice of Central Ohio, P. O. Box4 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-9909. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio and his home healthcare nurse, Stacey for all of the care that was provided to Michael during this difficult time.
