Michael Bret Irvine

Michael "Bret" Irvine, 27, died on January 21st, 2018. He was born to Michael and Angela Irvine on October 4th, 1990 in Westerville, OH. He was a 2009 graduate of Utica High School and a 2013 graduate from Ohio Wesleyan with a Bachelor's of Art and Music Education. He is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Irvine; his grandfather, Stanley Helterbran; and his grandparents, Edith and Donald Irvine. He is survived by his father, Michael Irvine; his brothers, Dylan and Dalton Irvine; his partner, Chad Whitaker; his grandmother, Judy Helterbran; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was a choir director at Southwest Licking School District and a band director at Columbus City Schools. After his teaching, he was a proud manager of a Starbucks. Bret was a soloist for the Columbus Gay Man's Chorus. His smile lit up any room and his booming laugh could be felt through your heart. He was known to prank many of his family members including his "Mamaw". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WMHS Choir c/o Margaret Patterson 8868 Watkins Rd. SW, Etna, OH 43062. Arrangements are entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where a visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 followed by a funeral service.
