Michael L. Ranney, Sr., 72, of Columbus, passed away peacefully August 25, 2010. He was born December 23, 1937 in Columbus, OH to the late Homer and Barbara (Sines) Ranney. Michael is survived by his children, Rusty (Wendy) Ranney, Karen Ranney; grandchildren, Rachael Ranney, Dawn Jacobs, Todd (Vivienne McEvoy) Barthel; 2 great-grandchildren, Peter and Vincent McEvoy and brother, Bernerd (Pat) Ranney. Michael was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the US Army. He retired from the Columbus Fire Department after 20 years of service. Michael enjoyed working on cars and collecting antique tools. Michael was a kind hearted, generous man that was always helping other people. Visitation will be held 2:00-5:00PM Sunday. August 29, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43204 where funeral services will be held 10:00AM Monday, August 30, 2010.
