

Mildred Pauline Cooper, age 85, of Upper Arlington, passed away on May 22, 2012. Mildred was born in Logan, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Clara Kornmiller. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Cooper, and brothers, Robert and Paul Kornmiller. Mildred attended Logan High School and throughout her life maintained her role as an extremely dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She volunteered at Upper Arlington Schools for many years, baking cookies, assisting in the classroom and sewing costumes for plays. Mildred had a deep appreciation for nature. She was an animal lover and could spend hours feeding, watching and admiring birds. Mildred was compassionate and thoughtful and loved to sew for her family and friends. She enjoyed creating homemade cards that sometimes included an original poem. Mildred was an excellent baker, enjoyed playing bridge and square dancing, and could often be heard around the house singing. She will be greatly missed by her children, Crista (David) DeVore and William (Joanna Wace) Cooper; grandsons, John and Drew DeVore; brother, Harry Kornmiller; sister, Ruth Smith; nieces, Linda Smith, Jo Ellen Smith, Jodi Hill, Karen Kornmiller, and Mary Lou North; longtime friend, Anabel Daniel; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until time of service.
