Mildred Louise Gathers, age 97 passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was born in Letart Falls, Ohio to the late Clarence T. and Adele Roush Norris. She joins her husband Wilbur Gathers who passed away in 2005.
She is survived by Garry and Larry Gathers, Sandra Gathers Cox, and deceased John Gathers; her grandchildren, Kelly Ulrey, John Gathers Jr., Joseph Cox, Timothy Kuhne, and Larry Gathers, plus 5 great grandchildren.
She loved listening to music and watching “The Lawrence Welk” show every Saturday, as we would all sit together and watch as a family. She loved to paint and would watch Bob Ross and going to the senior center to take lessons. She loved watching old movies and musicals with the family, as, “The Sound of Music” and, “Gone with the Wind” were her favorites. She loved dancing, as her and Wilbur competed in ballroom dancing for several years.
A visitation for Mildred will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Franklin United Brethren Church, located at 7171 Central College Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Pastor Mike Brown will be speaking the sermon, as the cremation will follow the services.
