
Mildred F. Harman, age 99, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Sanctuary in Dublin, Ohio where she had resided the past six months. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in six days. She was born December 1, 1909 in Allen County, daughter of Theodore and Ida Bower. On November 30, 1929 she was married to G.W. (Bud) Harman who died February 17, 1991. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ray Rosenthal of Columbus; three granddaughters, Kimberly Kuhn (Lance), Christine Hungler (Steve) and Buneka Bialecki; seven great grandchildren, Emily, Abigail and Samuel Kuhn; Austin, Jacob and Joshua Hungler and Jackson Bialecki. A sister, brother and infant brother preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Sidney High School with the class of 1927. Mildred was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna. For a number of years she was a secretary for Dayton Power and Light in both Sidney and Piqua offices. She served on the Board of Religious Education in the Sidney Schools and in earlier years was active in Home Demonstration work. “Mickey” possessed a special gift of poetry writing which earned her several recognitions. She also loved gardening which provided joy to the residents of Northside Commons. Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m. and one hour prior to the service at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 101 W. Main St. Anna, Ohio 45302. The Rev. Michael Althauser will officiate at the 12:00 noon service. Burial will be at Pearl Cemetery, Swanders, OH.
