Mildred "Millie" J. Jones

Born in Staten Island, NY on July 25, 1934, to the late Marcellus and Norma Jane Harrold. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Jones and her son David W. Clark on Oct. 5, 2015. Survived by her loving and devoted daughters: Debra (Chris) Barrett and Laurie (Guy) Gallo; Sister: Sue Berkhouse, Grandchildren William, Andrew and Jordan Havener; Jillian (Ryan) Miller, Nicholas (MacKenna Roberts), Marissa and Zachary Allen, great-grandson Tanner Miller. Aunt, Naomi and Uncle, Ed Masterleo. Many nieces and nephews. “Grandma Millie” to Jessica, Eric, Justin, Stephanie, Joe, Sofia, Owen, Madison, Julia and the many children and families whose hearts she touched.

A 1952 graduate of Fairmont High School in Dayton, OH. Millie was a devoted employee with over 24 years at Riverside Methodist Hospital where she began her career as the cashier & hostess in the Interlude. She adored the staff, employees, patients and families she interacted with. Making friends was her specialty! Upon retirement “Grandma Millie” shared her time, love and attention with the many children and could always be seen attending the many events of her grandchildren, she was their greatest fan! Story time – was a highlight with Grandma with her “Millie-isms” and never failing memory.

As an animal lover, she welcomed many cats and dogs into her home where they lived long, pampered happy lives. Her passion for the movies, musicals, fine dining and wine, kept her young at heart. She never hesitated to speak her mind, especially when it was “none of my business”!

Her family will receive friends on Friday, from 4-8 pm, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where her Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Saturday, October 17, 2015. Rev. Carol Lecompte officiating.

Interment to follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society in Millie’s memory.
