

Miriam Jean (More) Murphy, age 93, passed away on January 22, 2020 at West Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, OH. Miriam was born and raised in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus, a graduate of West High School class of 1944 and Franklin University. She had been employed by Columbia Gas of Ohio. Preceded in death by her parents; John and Bernice (Kingwill) More, husband; Walter Murphy, sister; Margaret Parkhurst. Miriam filled her life with the joys of playing the harp as a youngster, all things musical, extensive travels around the country, her pets, and many friends. Special friends from her school days and decades following were the late Ed Schmidt and Johnny Steiner. Miriam lived her faith as a long-time member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she sang in the choir for many years. As a child she loved to play along the creek bed and ride her bike with her friends. Miriam's spiritual beliefs were very evident by the kind, loving way she cared about others. She loved animals, especially her cat "Grandpa". She loved Ice cream and anything chocolate. Every visit started with a smile and ended with "Thank you for coming".
