

Monroe “Mike” Feder passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital at the age of 92. He was born February 19, 1919 in Irvington, NJ to Max and Frieda Feder. Mike grew up with his brother, Manny, and late sister, Suzy. He graduated from New York University in 1943. Mike served his country with the Army's Manhattan Project at Los Alamos, NM from 1943 to 1946. Mike was married to Evelyn “Evie”, the love of his life, for 66 wonderful years. He spent his 38 year professional career as an engineer at The Bell Telephone Laboratory. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, supporting the Special Olympics, School for the Blind, Mental Health organizations, and other local worthy causes. Mike and Evie enjoyed contra and square dancing for many years and supported and enjoyed the Columbus Symphony and Opera Columbus. He will be missed terribly by loving wife, Evie, daughter, Susan Strup, son, Jan (Brenda) Feder, and granddaughter, Emma Feder, who brought him great pleasure with her piano playing, and nieces, nephews and many friends . Mike's family wishes to express special thanks to Peggy “Rusty” Davis for her caring and devotion.
The family will receive friends at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Thursday, May 19 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a memorial service at 7:00pm. Contributions may be made in Mike's memory to the American Heart Association
