

Muerl Louise Machan Liddell was born on August 11th, 1934 in Strasburg Ohio. She rejoined her Lord on December 13, 2020. She is survived by her three children, Sherman Liddell (Pamela) of Chads Ford, PA; Sharon Buda (John) of Powell; Susan Liddell Caudillo of Mead, CO. Her four grandsons, Phillip and Christopher Liddell, Isaac Buda, Alan Caudillo and her granddaughter Marni Graham as well as four step great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Merle and Mae (Ludi) Machan, her husband Sherman P Liddell, her sister Grace Van Voorhis her grandchildren Sara Liddell, Joshua Buda, Eric Liddell, and Daniel Buda. She grew up on her family's farm, was raised with strong moral values and a love of God. She graduated from Dover High School and Muskingum College and took post graduate classes at Ohio State. In 1955 she married Sherman Liddell and started their family. She was a career women, starting as an English teacher before joining her husband in managing their State Farm Insurance Agency. She was active in local political organizations and frequently wrote letters to the local newspapers on current local and national issues. She was an active member of Highlands Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and a member of the Women's Bible Study. She was a devoted and loved wife, mother and grandmother. In most aspects of her life she put others before herself; she was generous with her love and her time and always wanted to help those less fortunate. She loved animals and rescued multiple cats, and her beloved dog Buck. She was a unique individual; a strong woman who lived by and modeled her Christian values. She was a teacher at her core, a lifelong learner, and encouraged others to seek opportunities to grow and contribute to their communities. She has left a lasting impression on the hearts of those that she met, and her influence has made us better. Services will be held at Highlands Presbyterian Church in 2021 pending State Health conditions.
