Well, Nancy Crist was the most inspirational and the most encouraging supervisor/teacher/principal I've met at OSD since I joined at OSD back in late 1983....Most supportive principal I've ever seen.... I'm at a loss for words right now with her passing away...  My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends.  I know I will miss her.

I’m former student at Ohio School for the Deaf and Nancy was one who welcome me into school back in 1979. Always remember her smile and most respectfully staff. Will miss her and meet you in Heaven.

Aunt Nancy Lou was my husband Ken's aunt.  Nancy Lou was such a special person.  I knew this right away when shortly after marrying my husband I was diagnosed with cancer.  Even though I had yet to meet Nancy Lou in person she sent me a care package with a kind note as well as some things she thought might help me through my cancer including a book that she had used and read during her first battle with cancer "A Cancer Battle Plan".  

She also let me know that she and her children were keeping me and my husband in their thoughts and prayers.  Due to my health and the many miles between us I only had the privilege of getting to spend time with her in person at her home on one occasion but Nancy Lou was just the kind of person you immediately felt close to and comfortable with.  

I never met her son but I did become close to her daughter Julie as she was my husband's cousin and often came to our family gatherings.  Sadly enough Julie was also diagnosed with cancer and left us to reside in heaven ahead of her mom.  Julie was such fun and always a shining light (I am guessing she got some of those genes from her sweet mom Nancy Lou). 

I know Nancy Lou and Julie both knew and loved Jesus and lived for Him.  It is my hope that now Aunt Nancy Lou and Cousin Jules are enjoying heaven together (being both perfectly healed) along with Julie's dog Buddy and that they are living it up and saving a place for the rest of us.  My prayers to all as we say goodbye to and mourn Nancy Lou.  My prayer is that the Lord will be near and bring comfort to everyone who knew and loved her.  Matthew 5:4  "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Fondest memories of Nancy Crist, 50+ years since my childhood. She was always kind, interested in what you did or had to say, intelligent and informed about the world. Thoughts are with son Dave during this time.

Nancy was a lovely person inside and out. I’m truly blessed to have known her. She was kind and so supportive in my teaching career. I will fondly remember her with love.

Nancy was a very kind, patient and encouraging person and educator.  I remember a time that she had to discipline a young student for his bad behavior. I listened as she talked to him -being caring and compassionate.  Nothing in her words were critical. She let the student know how important he was and how to make better choices. 
She influenced the beginning of my teaching career in the most positive, encouraging way possible. I’m sure many staff and students became better people because of her. What a special person!

Arrive in Style was purchased for the family of Nancy Lou Crist.

I started my teaching career in September of 1982 at The Ohio School for the Deaf.  The school year had already started a few weeks earlier.  I was hired late.  Nancy was the first person to greet me as I started my first day.  She was a wealth of information and I could see - by her continuous smile and enthusiasm - that she truly loved her job.  She made me feel like I knew what I was doing and provided much encouragement.  I never forgot my first year of teaching and I carried that positive experience with Nancy through all my 30 years working in various schools.
Nancy was always so positive and just happy about whatever she was doing.  I really do not remember a negative word or comment.  
My thoughts and sympathies are with the family.
