

Nancy Jane Lucas, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in Wheeling, WV, on November 9, 1944, to the late Robert L. and Madelyn M. (Beltz) Hohman. She was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Wheeling. She then attended business school and moved to the Columbus area in 1967. Nancy held many different jobs, but most recently she worked as a lab technician in a dental office. She was a founding member of Church of the Resurrection in New Albany where she participated in the Women’s Club and church choir. She also served as a vice president of the church’s first bowling league. She enjoyed swimming, ceramics, and playing cards, especially Euchre, and she recently developed an interest in NASCAR. Nancy liked to travel and go to Broadway shows, and she loved her precious dog, Angel. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother- and sister-in-law, Dr. George Andrews and Janet Hohman. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Ted Gayle Lucas; children, Gail Marie (Jimmy) Miller and Ted Allen (Victoria) Lucas; siblings, Sandra Andrews and Robert Hohman; twin grandchildren, Liberty Michaela and Trinity Gabriella; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Tom) Hoyt and Patti (John) Sikora; uncles, Andrew Hohman, O.F.M. Cap, and George R. Hohman, S.J.; aunt, Martha Jane Lawrence; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin Granville Road, New Albany, Fr. Jerome P. Rodenfels, Celebrant.
