Nancy Lee Nelson

Nancy L. Nelson age 79, a resident of Delaware, died Monday, February 1, 2010. She was born November 11, 1930 in New Castle, PA to the late John and Emily Kalajainen. She was a graduate of Shenango High School in New Castle and Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL class of 1952 with a B.A in Literature. She was a substitute teacher in the Denver, CO Public Schools, Summer Bible School Teacher and Sunday School Teacher. After moving to Ohio she substituted for Delaware City Schools, was secretary to the Housing Dept. and then the Drama Dept. at Ohio Wesleyan University and attended Grace Brethren Church. Some of her favorite music included “Just As I Am” and “Softly and Tenderly”. She is survived by her loving husband Myles whom she married on June 21, 1952, children Debra (Harvey) Guikema, Jill (Douglas) Vrona, Emily (John) Henney, Bruce Nelson, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Family will receive friends today from 5-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270).
