

Nancy graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1955. From 1955-1957, she attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She studied for a semester at the University of Mexico in Mexico City, before enrolling at The Ohio State University to finish her studies. While in Mexico and at Ohio State she participated on a synchronized swimming team. In 1959 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
After graduating with her physical therapy degree, Nancy worked as a physical therapist for the Richland County Crippled Children’s Society and established and was head of the Physical Therapy Department at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, Ohio. On August 21, 1960, she was married to Walter C. Roehrs in Mansfield, Ohio. Nancy later moved to Columbus with her husband Walt, where she was employed as a physical therapist for Children's Hospital from September 1960 until October 1961. After her children entered elementary school, Nancy resumed her physical therapy career, working for Riverside Methodist Hospital and Ohio Health, which lasted more than 30 years.
Shortly after moving to Columbus with her husband, Nancy and Walt joined North Community Lutheran Church. There she served as a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of their governing board and was very active in their Altar Guild. Nancy was an active member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary, serving as the State Chair and as the local chapter president. Nancy was also a Boy Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader.
Nancy was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. She hosted many gatherings with both family and friends. She was a recipe tester for her friend and cookbook author, Betty Rosbottom. She loved traveling, and she and Walt traveled all over the world. They made friends wherever they went. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and skiing. She especially cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and planned many special trips and vacations with them.
In addition to her husband Walt, Nancy will also be greatly missed by her children: Andrew Roehrs, Linda (Richard) Delano and Carl “Chip” (Nabeth) Roehrs; grandchildren: Kevin Delano, Amy (Phillip) Pennock, Jonathan (Samantha) Roehrs, Jenna Roehrs; great grandchildren: Rosie, Jacob and Evelyn Roehrs; her sister and brother-in-law Sally and Richard Beal; many nieces and nephews; and special friends: Jeff, Katariina, Daniel and Alec Levine.
Her Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a reception will follow until 6 pm.
