Nancy J. Vrona

Nancy was born May 20, 1934 to Edith and Charles Hatcher in Columbus, Ohio. She spent early life with her parents at their house on Parkwood Avenue in the North Linden community. She graduated from Mifflin High School in 1952. Nancy worked at The Union, a prestigious specialty store. She then went to work at Ohio National Bank and it was here, through a chance meeting, she met the love of her life, Pete Vrona. They married in 1954, sharing 70 wonderful years together.

She and Pete made their home in Minerva Park for 30 years, where she was involved in Women’s Club and helped found the Minerva Park Swim Club. Nancy spent 18 years guiding and mentoring young women as a Camp Fire Girls leader, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. She also learned to be a talented graphic artist, known for designing stunning Christmas, birthday and other creations, individually made for each recipient.

Nancy was an avid card player with her family and played social bridge with Pete and their friends. She went on to play in Bridge tournaments nationwide. She ultimately became an American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) Life Master, one of her proudest accomplishments.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Pete Vrona, their children Beth Assif (Cris) and Doug Vrona (Jill) and grandchildren Tony Assif and Amanda Assif. She has many dear friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. She always said her greatest ambition was to have kids and raise a family. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed. Her warmth, creativity, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Nancy will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM and a reception until 1:30 PM. Followed by Interment at Union Cemetery.
