Nathan Wesley George fell asleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at his home in London, England. Nathan was born January 9, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio to Dale and Kathy (Hanks) George. Nathan graduated from Maranatha High School in 2001, and followed graduation with a yearlong ministry in Australia. After his year down under, Nathan pursued his calling at Southern Wesleyan University, where he graduated in 2007. Following graduation, Nathan accepted a youth ministry position at Pickens View Wesleyan Church in Pickens, SC, where he loved helping teens on their faith journey. After marrying the love of his life, Lauren in 2012, Nathan moved to Charlotte, NC, where he became the Children's and Teaching Pastor at Watershed Church. Continuing with Nathan's passion for adventure and big cities, he and Lauren moved to London in August 2014. Nathan will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Lauren Grabill George; parents, Dale and Kathy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Ashley, Thaddaeus and Jamie and nephew Jackson; grandmother, Thelma George; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Diane Grabill; brothers-in-law and families, Todd and Paula Grabill and daughters, Amelia and Daniela, Mark and Jamie Grabill and daughter, Nora; Lauren's grandfather, Sidney Edelman; Lauren's grandmother, Dorothy Patterson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, especially G-Force and many, many dear friends. He was also "papa" to their dog Murray Allen. Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents Rev. C.E. and Delores Hanks, Paul George and cousin, Stephen Hanks. Nathan lived big but in a gentle way. The "silver fox" was a lover of God and people, a man of timeless style. He was a fierce encourager to all and a lifelong fan of his family and the Buckeyes. A cultural guru and food aficionado, Nathan loved to travel, explore cities and take on new adventures, all while capturing memories on his vintage Polaroid cameras. Well done Nathan, well done.
