

A funeral service for Nellie F. Bailey, 85, of Newark, will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
Nellie was born in Newark, Ohio on February 7, 1927 to the late James E. and Rose F. (Hoffer) Whyde. She passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2013 with her family at her side.
Nellie worked for Park National Bank, Krebs building, cleaning for Don Lee, Astro Fireworks and for a few others. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Robert E. Bailey, whom she married September 27, 1943; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Debbie Bailey Sr., and James and Karen Bailey, all of Newark; three daughters and sons-in-law, Myra and John Keaser, Sue and Dave Cunningham all of Newark and Debbie and Ken Branham, of New Lexington; special granddaughter, Tiffany Trout; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; special home health aide, Jennifer Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Rose; and four brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to thank her caretakers, Generation Hospice, Westgate Family Practice, Zerger Hall and Pastor Anthony Payton.
Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
