Norma Jean Gilbert

Norma Jean Gilbert age 80 was born on December 23, 1935 in Springfield, Ohio to the union of George and Mary Gilbert. She departed this earthly life on March 28, 2016 at 12 noon. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Gilbert; Brother Freddie R. Gilbert. Norma attended Springfield Public School. She worked many years in the Public School as a Teacher Assistant. Norma was a longtime member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church serving on the Nurses Guild, Church Clerk, Guild Girls, and Vacation Bible School Ministry. Norma was a great inspiration to everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed by her nieces Sandy Gilbert, Irene and Debbie Thompson, and special nieces; Pamela Fudge Redmond, Lucretia, Jacquelyn, Yvonne, Yvette, and Rosalind Fudge; nephews Darryl Chandler and Fred Jr., and special and dear friend Mamie Allen. Family will receive friends 2-3 PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, where a funeral service will follow at 3 PM. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.
