Norma Jean Minor

Norma “Jean” Minor, 89, of Circleville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Berger Hospital. She was born January 1, 1927 in Circleville, the daughter of George Charles and Ethel Christina (Runkle) Trimmer. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1944 and continued to enjoy monthly lunches with classmates until recently. She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a 4-H advisor, Eastern Star and Jackson Township PTS.

Jean especially enjoyed family gatherings and was an excellent seamstress and cook. Jean was a role model for all, kind, thoughtful and always smiling.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd whom she married March 19, 1945 in Greenup, KY; her parents; sisters, Priscilla Ball (Eugene) Hommon, Constance Louise (Eugene) Mowery and Marjorie Ann (Bernard) Smith.

She is survived by her children, Linda Minor (Roger) Coleman, James Eldon (Joanne) Minor and Sally Ann (Keith Osborne) Walters; grandchildren, Jooli (Ron) Osterholt, Robert (Sherry) Diltz, Jeffrey (Gwen) Minor, Gregory (Michelle) Minor, Christine (Mark) Dudgeon and Jennifer (Micah) Hall; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Afton Osterholt, Jared, Darby, Riley and Reid Minor, Marcy and Bryson Dudgeon, Josey Walters, Tanner Schmitt and Jesse Hall; step great-grandchildren, Bryan (Ashley) Meade, Sean (Sarah) Meade and Julie (Amy Steckman) Meade; step great-great grandchildren, Addison, Brodic, Colson, Mason and Miley Meade; sister-in-law, Grace (Ron) Minor; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:30 PM Friday, January 29, 2016 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM with Pastor Gerhard Kraus officiating.

Burial of the urn will take place at a later date in Jackson Twp. Cemetery.
