

Norman “Pete” Howard, age 77, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012. He was born in Lilly Chapel, Ohio on October 1, 1934 to the late Willard and Grace (Gochenour) Howard. Pete was a 1952 graduate of Grove City High School. He retired from Westinghouse and later retired from COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) where he was a bus driver. Pete was a former member of Grove City Church of the Nazarene and was currently a member of Brown Road Community Church. Pete founded and was the former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troup 721 and co-founded the Silver Cross Motorcycle Club. He was a skilled mechanic and loved motorcycles. He was also an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Howard; children, Steve (Sherrie) Howard, Ken Howard, Cathy Newton-Howard, and Cindy Jo Howard; grandchildren, Cathy Mae Howard, Kelsey Howard, and Nathan Howard; brothers, David (Virginia) Howard and Lowell (Cindy) Howard; brothers in-law and sisters in-law; Allen Green, Karen (Bill) Sharp, Sharon (Gary) Robertson, Garry Green, Larry (Charlotte) Green, and Butch Boyce; special friend, Jim Worthington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 10:00AM-12:00PM with funeral service to follow at 12:00PM at Brown Road Community Church, 1553 Brown Road, Columbus, Ohio 43223. Pastor Thom Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 471 E.
