

Olive Maree Nicholson Brooks, age 104, of Columbus, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at Whetstone Gardens and Care Center, Columbus, OH. Olive was born in 1906 in Greens Fork, Indiana, to John S. Nicholson and Flora Strickler Nicholson.
Preceded in death by loving husband, Milton F. Brooks in 1969, brothers Harold E Nicholson, Kenneth J Nicholson and Lowell S. Nicholson, and sister Erma N. Barber. Survived by sisters Helen N. Elliott, Columbus, and Nina N. Cranor, Greens Fork, eight nieces, many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Olive attended Ball State College in Muncie, Indiana, and Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She taught elementary school in Indiana for several years and at South Western City Schools for eleven years. She also taught three years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City, retiring in 1970. Olive had been a member of Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 55 years. Graveside service and Interment on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Greens Fork South Cemetery, Greens Fork, Indiana, Rev. Max Knight and Rev. Wendy Cannon co-officiating.
