Opal Trippett McComas, formerly Opal Thomas, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Daytona Beach, FL. She was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her first husband, George Thomas; sisters, Elsie Paxton and Patricia Woodard; brothers, Elza, Robert, Jack, and Carl Trippett. She is survived by her husband, Frank McComas; sister, Doris Thompson; brothers, Ray (Shirley) Trippett and Roger (Mary) Trippett; daughter, Sheila (Roy) Prather; sons, George (Judy) Thomas, Don (Bonna) Thomas, Rodney Thomas, Bret (Kris) Thomas, and Joe (Kari) Thomas; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Schoedinger Linden Memorial Chapel, 2741 Cleveland Avenue, where friends will be received from 10am to 1pm Friday; interment at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
