

Opal R. Steck, age 86 of Williamsport, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1923 in Louisa, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ethel Marie (Ball) Blevins. She was a graduate of Xenia High School, a former 4-H advisor, served on the Pickaway County Zoning Commission, and was an active member of the Good Time Quilters.
She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Linda Steck-Honkonen. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Melvin R. Steck; daughter Carol Ann Steck of Cincinnati; son Doug Steck of Williamsport; granddaughter Elizabeth (Manos) Semertzides of Cincinnati; sisters Edith Taylor of Orlando, FL and Judy Adams of Kissimmee, FL.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 in the chapel of the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:30 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berger Hospice Care 1170 N. Court St., Suite B, Circleville, OH 43113. The family would like to thank Maria and Mona for the loving care they have given to Opal.
