Orville Eugene Horton

Orville Eugene Horton, age 80, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born January 28, 1933 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Elmer and Lillian (Artis) Louis. Gene was a retired City of Columbus Police Lieutenant and was previously employed with S.T.R.S. as an Office Manager in their accounting department. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 8198, a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, and American Legion Post 532. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Close) Horton; and siblings, Richard, Earl, Ernetta Harris, and Joyce Everett. Orville is survived by children, Catherine (Donald) Gray, Sandra (Jack) Davies, Judy (Robert) Ewing, Jeri (Rick) Hanson, Joseph Eugene (Amy) Horton, and Sharon Evans; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
