

Patricia Ingraham Bateson, 87, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on February 1, 1927 to the late Forest W. and Anora (Kenny) Ingraham, and spent her formative years in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia. Pat graduated from Pt. Pleasant High School, and Stephens College in Missouri. Being a military wife, she lived in Germany, Texas, New York and Newfoundland, before settling in Columbus in 1964. She is preceded in death by loving husband and best friend of 51 years, Harry L.; survived by children Don (Janey) Bateson, Mike (Lisa) Bateson and Debbie (Don) Clark; grandchildren Allison (Jesse) Springer, Erica (David) Butler and Haley Bateson; great-granddaughter Brynn Springer, sister Phyllis Stout; nieces and nephews and her beloved Schnauzer Mandy. Pat was retired from Rickenbacker Air Force Base where she worked in Civil Engineering for 30 years. She enjoyed doing needlework, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, Ohio State Football, reading and most importantly, family gatherings. Her love of reading led her to become a volunteer at the Southeast branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library for which she received the Lifetime Volunteer Service Award, having donated over 4,000 hours. Visitation will be at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, on Friday, June 27 from 5-7pm, with a private burial for family at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
