Patricia Margaret Reeve, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and caring friend to all whose lives she touched left us while sleeping peacefully on January 12th, 2021 at her home in Powell, Ohio. She was born on April 29th, 1945 in Morley, England to Harold and Mary Elsie Watson, grew up there in W. Yorkshire and graduated from Morley Grammar School. In 1967, she married John Newton Reeve, and together they lived in Birmingham (UK), Vancouver (Canada), Tucson (Arizona), London (UK) and W. Berlin (Germany) before moving and settling permanently in Columbus in 1979. Patricia worked first for financial institutions and then, in Berlin, as a graphic design artist for the Max Planck Institute.
She was exceptionally talented both as a fine artist and in practical DIY skills. She painted, played the piano, cooked gourmet international dinners and made traditional Christmas pastries and meals for her family, friends and guests. She was equally talented in carpentry, sewing, home decorations and renovations, gardening and yard work. But, most of all, she will be remembered for her exquisite artwork; embroidery, decorative wooden boxes and plates, art objects and Christmas ornaments she designed, constructed and beautifully painted, many of which are, and will always be, treasured by relatives and friends worldwide.
In Columbus, she was a member of TWIG 53, helping with their annual volunteer work at Memorial Tournaments; a long-standing and active member of the Heart of Ohio Tole (HOOT) painting organization, and a regular participant with friends in a "coffee ladies" weekly get-together. But Patricia's first and foremost focus and dedication was caring for her family. As Mom, she raised, guided, taught and was very proud of her sons, Simon and Daniel. Then, as Grandma Trish to Lily and Abby, she cared, showered love and helped pass on her art and home skills, playing, learning, imagining and having fun together in their Green Girls' café and Crafty Crafters workshop
Patricia was always kind, caring, considerate and gracious. She will truly be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have been a part of her life. She is survived by husband John; sons Simon Reeve (Heather) and Daniel Reeve (Evelyn); granddaughters, Lilian Reeve and Abigail Reeve; and sister Rosaline Greaves (Peter).
During her final months, she and her family benefitted enormously from the wonderful care and support of Amanda and Brenda of Capital City Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN. Given the current COVID concerns and travel restrictions, no ceremony is planned now but her life will be celebrated later this year, when a meeting for all her family and friends can be safely held. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please donate in her name to a charity of your choice, or to the Columbus MetroParks where Patricia enjoyed many hours with her granddaughters.
