

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Patsy “Pat” Swan, 64 of Newark, will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating.
Pat was born in Newark on June 19, 1946 to the late Harold Redman and Emma (Gatten) Maier. She was raised by her mother and her late adopted father, John Maier. Pat passed on September 29, 2010 at Licking Memorial Hospital, while surrounded by her family.
Pat was a gifted seamstress and a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and researching her family genealogy. She enjoyed getting together monthly with her high school classmates to play euchre. Pat was also a great cook and was known as the “Candy Lady.” She found pleasure in making candy for her family and friends, especially during the holiday seasons. She was always a positive person, knew no stranger and loved everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Dave Swan, whom she married on June 6, 1965; one son, Brian (Justine) Swan; two grandchildren, Tanner and Cambryn Swan; brothers and sisters, John (Barb) Maier, Connie (Tom) Ellis, Rita (Bill) Revercomb, Joann (George) Henry, Jeff (Sue) Maier, Jim (Kristine) Maier, Ron (Pat) Redman, Sandy (Larry) Wigton and Becky (Dan) Newell; one uncle, Joseph Gatten; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pat to Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday two hours prior to the funeral service, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
