

A Funeral Service for Paul Funk of Newark will be held Saturday December 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with Elders Jack Allen and John Krumm officiating.
Paul was born in Logan, Ohio on August 21, 1922 to the late Frank and Claribel (Carpenter) Funk. He died Monday December 12, 2011 at Newark Healthcare. He was 89.
He is preceded in death by his first wife May Bell (Hite) Funk, wife Mertie L. (Wright) Funk, son and daughter-in-law Austin (Jodee) Funk, brother and sister-in-law Earl (Garnieta) Funk, sister-in-law Florence (Eugene) Johnson, niece Linda (Funk) Clemmer and nephew Ray Johnson.
Paul is survived by his son Herbert (Lou) Funk, step daughter Mertie Lou Winne, grandchildren Amy (Mark) Hay and Tammy (Billy) Alexander; great-grandchildren Taylor Hay and Jordan Hay, brothers Charles (Eileen) Funk and Raymond Funk, sister Shirley Funk, ten nieces and nephews and their families, and many other family members and friends.
Mr. Funk worked as a dairy farmer, vault maker and janitor. He was a member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church.
