

Paul A. Gydosh, age 88, of Columbus, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was born January 6, 1926 in Pocahontas, VA, the eldest of seven. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a pharmacist mate first class on the LST-702 in the South Pacific. His strong work ethic was a constant, spanning the hotel, automotive, and financial industries. He and Rose met while working at the downtown hotels Statler and Cleveland during the post WWII glory years of Cleveland. Paul and Rose shared a full life together for 58 years. They loved ballroom dancing and were members of the Terpsichorian Dance Club. Paul was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Indians fan witnessing championships of both teams. He was also an avid reader of history and enjoyed traveling in the U.S., Italy, and Greece. Paul loved serving his country and the U.S. flag and what it stood for. He will be dearly missed by his family. Preceded in death by his wife, Rose (DellaVentura) Gydosh; parents, Paul and Elizabeth (Levay) Gydosh; and brothers, Alfred and Joseph. Paul will be missed by his son, Paul A. Jr. (Carol) Gydosh; daughter, Anne E. (Charles) McDow; grandchildren, Paige (fiancé, Steve Butters) Gydosh, Carly (Andrew) Keatts, and Tony McDow; siblings, Mary Kunc, Margaret Gerez, Dorothy Dumnich, and Anthony (Annette) Gydosh; sister-in-law, Barbara Gydosh; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ladislas Catholic Church, 2345 Bassett Rd., Westlake, OH 44145, Fr. Donald Snyder, Celebrant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
