

A Celebration of Life Service for Paul W. Heisey, 86 of Newark, will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Rintamaa officiating. The Licking County Veterans Alliance will provide military honors. Burial will be held at a later date in Fishburn Cemetery, Hershey, PA.
Paul was born in Dauphin County, PA on October 21, 1923 to the late William P. and Clara Martha (Lerch) Heisey. He passed away on October 19, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was an electronic technician in the Metrology Standards Lab at the Newark Air Force Base, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Central Christian Church; N.A.R.F.E.; Seemour Travel Club, Just Friends Travel Club, A.R.C. Club; Historical Society; National Rifle Association; and the C.E. Harmonaires. He also enjoyed flying, traveling; was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan; and had a passion for collecting toy trains.
He is survived by his two sons, P. Carter (Donna) Heisey of Cincinnati and Gregory B. Heisey of Franklin, Michigan; six grandchildren, Carrie (Joe) Palmer, Kim (Tom) Shields, Kate (Jimmy) Powers, Dawn (Jon) Heisey-Grove, Shana Heisey and Derrick Heisey; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. (Winters) Heisey in 2009, whom he married on April 12, 1947; great grandson, Nate Heisey; and daughter-in-law, Marie Heisey.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00-2:00 PM. .
