Paul Dane McDonald of Worthington, Ohio, age 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 16, 2021. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on February 13, 1930 to Avah Lucille Stout McDonald and Paul Dane McDonald Sr. of Bridgeport, West Virginia. He was deeply loved by his entire family which included his wife of fifty-eight years, Patricia Gay McDonald and his four children; Cheryl Ann Moss (Trent), Stephen Paul McDonald (Charlene), John Allen McDonald (Sandy), and Patricia Lynn Brown (Andrew). He was also cherished by each of his eleven grandchildren; Jennah Rose Moss, Brian Jacob Moss (Dacey), Scott Daniel Moss (Marissa), Benjamin James Taylor, Stephen Paul Richard McDonald, Timothy Patrick McDonald, Hannah Renee McDonald, John Dane McDonald, Grace Elizabeth Brown, Elise Victoria Brown and Jacob Ashworth Brown. Paul also had five great-grandchildren; Azalea Reese Taylor, Ryun James Taylor, Jordyn Rayne Taylor, Hope Elizabeth-Rose Moss, and Jackson Alexander Moss.
Paul lived a full life which centered around faith and family. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army. He loved aircraft engineering and made remote controlled model airplanes. He served for many years as a pastor. In the early years of ministry, he and his wife Patricia sang hymns together on the radio. He retired as a Senior Vice President in the insurance industry. In recent years he taught Men's Bible Studies.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, father, and wife, Patricia (d.2015). Paul is survived by his sister, Glenda Lawman (Bill) of Huntington, West Virginia, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A service will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 12:30p.m. with funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m.
