

Pedro Pineda, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2010 with family at his side. Pedro was born February 22, 1924 in Havana, Cuba. He emigrated to the United States in 1969 at the age of 45 with his wife and two young sons. His greatest achievement was that through his sacrifices, his children, grandchildren and future heirs have the opportunity of living the American Dream free from communist oppression. Pedro was preceded in death by his sisters, Ramona, Nereida, and Zenaida. He is survived by his wife, Josefa; sons, Pedro Jr. (Rita) and Robert (Stephanie); grandchildren, Pedro III, Miguel, Joseph, Nicole and Jacob Pineda; sister, Petra; brothers-in-law, Carlos and Keith; nephews, Hector, Fernando, Carlos Jr., and Nelson; niece, Barbara; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 25 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL 5360 E. Livingston Ave. where the funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 26. Fr. Stanley Benecki officiating. Interment at Sunset Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to Home Reach Hospice for their support and care.
