

Pete served in the Army during WWII and was stationed in New Guinea, the Philippines, and finally in Japan before returning home to attend and graduate from The Ohio State University with a degree in Agriculture majoring in Animal Husbandry. He began his career with the State of Ohio at the Department of Agriculture where he worked on animal nutrition research. Served with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency as a member of the Water Pollution control Board and as a hearing officer. A major portion of his career was spent with the Ohio Department of Health in the Nursing Division and it was from there that he retired in 1984. Pete also spent time working with the Minneapolis Moline Tractor Company and Warren Teed Pharmaceuticals.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou DePaul, his brothers and sisters, Sarah (Jack Hubbard), Salvatore (Anne) DePaul, Phillip (Joyce) DePaul, Virginia (Richard) Koch, two nieces and a nephew. Pete is survived by his son James P. DePaul, daughter Nancy (Rob) Husted, and his pride and joy granddaughter Angela R. Husted. Pete is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Pete was an outstanding father, grandfather, and friend. A strong supporter of all Bishop Watterson H.S. athletics and the Bishop Watterson Marching Eagles. He was also a strong supporter of the Ohio University Marching 110 of which his granddaughter was a member. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends at Bishop Watterson where he went for coffee every week and always made sure to bring them a homemade treat. Pete was a member of St. Michael Parish in Worthington and volunteered at the school while his granddaughter was a student at the school.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270). Funeral service and internment will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center. Deacon Chris Campbell officiating.
