

Peter Glen Phillips, of Granville, Ohio passed gently in his sleep with family by his side on March 12, 2021. Born March 13, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Peter held the distinction of Eagle Scout, Indian Scout, Army Veteran, member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and graduate of West Virginia University.
Preceded in death by his Son, Jeffrey Glen Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA), Brother-in-law, William Fischer, Mother, Rosalee Anna Helms Phillips and Father, Glen Foster Phillips.
Survived by his daughter, Janet Phillips (Granville, OH), Grandson, John Glen Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA), his Sister, Marion Phillips Fischer (William, dec.), (York, SC), as well as two nieces Kathy Fischer Conrad (Mark), Judy Fischer Suggs (Phil), Great niece Jennifer Suggs Hoffman (Stephen) and Great nephew Christopher Suggs Whom Peter cherished as if they were his own grandchildren, cousin Kenny (Pat) Byrd and Jack Byrd as well as many cherished family and friends whom he enjoyed, notably Jennifer Byrd, Trisha Byrd Hanlon, Roger and Jose Smith, Tavie Carlisle and Patrick Miller.
Peter, a quiet, gentle, calm accountant, (unless one of his kids did something, he did not approve of…which rarely happened… :-O), spent most of his career with CPA firms serving Schottenstein Corporate Stores. Peter was well known for his incomparable insight with numbers. Upon retiring, Peter became heavily involved as a real estate investor.
Peter was a knowledgeable arborist and bird watcher. He also collected buckeyes by the dozens and four leaf clovers keeping the unusual ones such as seven leaf clovers in scrapbooks.
Peter enjoyed more than ten years people watching as a WalMart Greeter in Lancaster, Ohio where the staff took extra special care of him far beyond what anyone might imagine, and family are forever grateful.
Peter's final weeks were spent in Licking Memorial Hospital where the Doctors and Nurses made unbelievable efforts trying to bring him back to his house in Granville to feed the birds and deer where he could relax in his rocking chair on the front porch.
