Philip Donald Offenbacher

Philip D. Offenbacher, 54, died unexpectedly at his home. Phil helped to provide devoted care for his elder parents, Jean and Donald, and is preceded by them in death. Phil attended Upper Arlington High School and then graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 1980. Like his grandfather, he served as a loyal employee of the U.S. Post Office for many years. Phil enjoyed all kinds of music, especially jazz, played guitar, and attended numerous concerts with his brother over the years. He also competed in 5 and 10K races across central Ohio, hiked many of the metro and state parks while photographing the scenery, and followed his favorite teams including the Buckeyes, Browns, and Reds. He is survived by his brother, John, and cousins, David Binkley, Jan Lind, and Sara Stephens, as well as their families. Family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Following visitation, graveside service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd.
